Importing GIS Layers

You can upload GIS files to StackDX Maps using Import / Tools → Upload GIS File.

Drag and drop your file or click to select it manually, then click Upload.

Upload dialog showing Import/Tools → Upload GIS File and supported file formats.

Supported File Types

File Type
Description / Notes

CSV

Uses the land grid export format from IFS or Pandell Land systems. A sample file is available here.

Shapefile (.zip)

Must be uploaded as a .zip containing all required components: .shp, .prj, .shx, and .dbf.

GeoJSON (.geojson)

Must conform to the EPSG:4326 projection standard (WGS84 Latitude/Longitude).

Tip: You can use QGIS or other GIS tools to convert and export different file formats (e.g. KMZ) into one of the supported types above for use in StackDX Maps.

Once uploaded, the layer is automatically processed and rendered on the map and added to your workspace. On the left-hand side, a settings panel appears where you can rename, re-style, and save the layer.

By default, uploaded layers are saved to your Personal Library.

After upload, update the layer name and styling in the left hand panle.
