StackDX Integration

Clients using the StackDX core application can view proprietary data and documents directly in StackDX Maps. Maps provides access to project and well information stored in StackDX.

Maps displays layers derived from corporate projects and related well documents:

  • Corporate Projects (e.g., Active Mineral, Active Wells)

  • Well Documents linked to wells on the map

Viewing Projects in Maps

In the Maps Library, the left-hand menu lists StackDX Land, which shows all projects created in StackDX. Users only see projects they have access to.

Typical available layers:

  • Stack Wells (All Active): visible to users with Asset Read or Asset Write roles

  • Stack Surface (All Active): visible to users with Land Read or Land Write roles

  • Stack Mineral (All Active): visible to users with Land Read or Land Write roles

  • Stack Contracts (All Active): visible to users with Land Read or Land Write roles

User roles and permissions are set by StackDX administrators.

Layer Data and Metadata

Corporate layers are set to update daily. Each layer includes metadata viewable in the Attribute Table. Selecting any map object opens a Details panel summarizing key attributes and providing a direct URL to view the object in StackDX.

User Projects in Maps

Projects created by a user in StackDX also appear in Maps. When a project is shared within StackDX, it becomes visible in Maps to the shared users as well. For example, A user who creates a project in Criteria for their Montney mineral holdings will see the corresponding Montney layer appear automatically in Maps after the project is created.

Creating StackDX Projects in Maps

Maps allows users to generate StackDX Projects directly from existing map layers. This feature is useful for building geospatial projects such as Virtual Data Rooms (VDRs) tied to specific geographic areas.

From Well Layers

Any well layer can be converted into a StackDX Project. Select the gear icon in the Workspace for the layer, and view the Layer Contents on the left hand panel and select 'Convert to a StackDX Project'.

'Convert to a StackDX Project' in left hand panel

This creates a static copy of the well list in StackDX under the same layer name which can be accessed through the Projects Menu in StackDX or by clicking the link that replaced the 'Convert to StackDX Project'. Edits made later to the map layer, such as adding new wells, do not update the existing StackDX Project.

Link to open the project in StackDX

Once created, a direct URL links to the project in StackDX.

View of of the project in StackDX

In StackDX, users can:

  • View all documents related to the wells

  • Add related data types from surface, land, facilities etc.

  • Create or manage a Virtual Data Room

From Land Layers

Projects can also be created from corporate land layers such as All Active Mineral, All Active Surface, or All Active Contract.

After filtering or selecting the desired parcels, save the group as a layer. Click the gear icon beside the layer, open Contents, and select Convert to a StackDX Project. The new project behaves like a well-layer project but contains land data.

Supported Data Types

Each project created through Maps is limited to one data type. You cannot combine Surface, Mineral, Contract, and Well data in a single Maps-based project. To build multi-type projects, use StackDX directly to add related data or import additional files.
