Getting Started
An annotation is a special layer that shows up on top of everything else and lets you draw directly on the map. Once saved, you can interact with it like with any other layer: add it to your projects, share it with your team, or enable several annotations at the same time.

Adding Annotations
To start drawing on the map, click the Paintbrush icon that floats on the map on the right hand side.

This overlays a table of tools that float near the top of the map.

These tools each offer a different method to draw or write on the map and are summarized below:
1. Pointer
Select or move annotations.
2. Freehand Line
Sketch freely on the map.
3. Line
Draw a straight line between two points. To end a line, double click at the terminating point.
4. Arrow
Add a directional arrow. To end an arrow, double click at the terminating point
5. Rectangle
Draw a rectangular shape.
6. Circle
Draw a circular shape.
7. Text
Add a text label or note.
8. Icon / Emoji
Place an icon or marker.
Styling Annotations
Before creating an annotation, you can choose its styling options — including stroke color, fill color, stroke width, and opacity — to define how your shapes or lines will appear on the map. These settings determine the color and thickness of your outlines, the fill inside shapes, and the overall transparency. You can also toggle measurement display and adjust the drawing order using the layer controls at the bottom of the panel.
If you need to make changes later, select the annotation using the Pointer tool (the first icon in the toolbar) to reopen its style panel and modify colors, line width, or opacity.

Annotations can be deleted by using the Pointer (1) and hitting the 'Delete key on your keyboard. Any of the shapes and text can also be edited by using the Pointer and selecting the annotation you wish to modify.
Saving
Each annotation does not need to be saved individually. After drawing and styling an annotation, you can continue adding more to the same layer without saving each one. Once you’ve completed all your annotations, click Save in the styling panel to preserve the layer. This ensures that all drawings, styles, and labels are stored together and available in a single layer.
Once saved, this layer can be found in your Personal Library.
This layer can be edited in the future by adding to your workspace and clicking the gear button. New drawings can be added or using the Pointer (1) annotation type, old annotations can be modified or removed.
